Who we are

A China-based team focused on higher education abroad

Founded in Beijing in 2011, Beijing Zhongxiqiao Education Consulting is one of China's earliest consultancies focused on Spain and other European countries. Headquartered in Beijing, with our Madrid office and resident staff across major Chinese cities, plus a resident coordinator in Barcelona — we work on both sides of the bridge: helping universities abroad enter the Chinese market and connect with Chinese institutions, while opening more study opportunities and pathways for Chinese students overseas.

A first for post-pandemic Spain: the USAL Joint Institute of Intelligent Engineering opens in Ningbo

On 9 June 2026, the University of Salamanca (USAL) and Ningbo Polytechnic University inaugurated the Joint Institute of Intelligent Engineering — the first joint institute established in China by a Spanish university since the pandemic. Its three degree programmes cover applied artificial intelligence, chemical smart manufacturing and industrial robotics, taught with in-class support for Chinese students.

Both universities will share research resources in robotics, advanced manufacturing and AI, while students and staff exchange regularly through joint teaching and industry projects — opening new pathways for students on both sides.

For CWE, this partnership began long before the ceremony — with an introduction between two universities, a design shaped over many conversations, and the negotiations that followed, all the way to the institute that now stands in Ningbo.
